How can yoga help
Working with your physical body, mind and breathwork is proven to reduce stress, strengthen your muscles, help with your proprioception and increase flexibility & balance.
Practicing Yoga is said to strengthen the cerebral cortex, the part of the brain associated with higher learning making it easier to focus and concentrate on the task at hand.
Yoga helps to reduce the chatter in your head, calm your mind and control overthinking. This relaxing practice stimulates your vagus nerve putting you in your rest and digest state.
Regular yoga practice helps you to return to homeostasis which activates your parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest) calming your body and mind and helping you to relax, rest and sleep.

Yoga increases your blood flow helping to improve your circulation. Certain postures will help carry oxygen to all the cells in your body giving you more energy and keeping your body in a healthier state.
As your muscles work against gravity in yoga you can increase your bone density strengthening your bones and muscles and improving muscle tone, keeping you limber and helping to prevent injury.
Stretching in yoga poses helps to give your muscles and joints a wider range of motion which in turn improves your flexibility. True yoga however is not how physically bendy you are but how flexible you are in your mind.
Gentle postures of yoga help to bring your nervous system into balance, reducing your stress levels and lowering your blood pressure leaving you feeling more relaxed and centred.
